Quite simply we are pretty much full for New Years Eve, YAHOO! We get the occasional cancellation so please call us and check as we might just have space for you. We have space for the 18^th, 19^th, 20^th, 21^st, 22^nd, 23^rd, 24^th, 25^th, 26^th, 27^th, 28^th & 29th December & for these days we have a lot planned to make your experience an awesome one. Come have your Christmas on the beach at Bondi Beach and/or Coogee Beach, you won’t regret it!!!

Whats included

We have pancakes for every day from 21st December 8am to 11am, YUMMEE!!

Thursday 22^nd December we have our first FREE BBQ, an Aussie BBQ of meat and salad washed down with FREE! red &/or white wine.

Friday 23^rd December we have a punch night at Surfside, $5 drink it till it’s gone then down to local pub.

Saturday 24^th December is Christmas Eve. We have a fancy dress pub crawl around Bondi Beach/Coogee Beach, prizes for the best costume. We intend to be in the Bondi Hotel/Coogee Bay Hotel for midnight celebrations.

Sunday 25^th December is Christmas Day and we have a lot planned for you. First we have Christmas breakfast of pancakes, fruit, chocolate sauce, everything is YUMMEE!!  Then a chance for you to swim or surf in the ocean. Around 1pm we have our fully catered sit down Christmas 3 course lunch. We have chips & dips for appetizers, we have freshly cooked BBQ chicken with salads and breads with red &/or white wine with crackers and Christmas hats too. Finish off with a Christmas dessert. Down the beach to flop out on the golden sand, swim, surf, relax or hit the beach party held on the beach (at own expense but recommended if you want to party) Quiet time around 6-8pm, talk to your friends and family at home, tell em how hot it is!. Finish the day with party at Surfside Bondi Beach/Coogee Beach with loud music, chat with new friends, heaps of FREE! red and white wine to finish off too.

Monday 26^th December has 3 choices, a day at the races/a day at Watson’s Bay/hit the shopping mall sales. The races is free entry, its fun, it’s always busy & it’s different. Or take a day at Watsons Bay. Each year on this day Sydney harbour hosts the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, the harbour is full of boats, truly spectacular & well worth checking out on this once a year event. We take a group to Watson’s bay to eat drink and see the awesome sights. Or hit the sales at nearby Bondi Junction mall or in the City malls.

Boxing Day is also Surfside FREE! Pizza Night with FREE! red and white wine

Tuesday 27^th December is an explorer day, go and see something you have not seen before, take one of our free guides, buy some bus tickets and see some of Sydney’s FREE icons or we have discounted tickets for the Sydney Sky Tower, the Sydney Aquarium, the Wildlife World or the outstanding Taronga Zoo (the Zoo is highly recommended by all who visit)

Wednesday 28^th December is Surfside Sports Day. The Surfside Bondi guests walk south around Tamarama to Bronte Beach whilst the Coogee guests walk north around Clovelly to Bronte Beach, we meet up play rounders/baseball, have a massive FREE! BBQ, eat drink and be merry with heaps of FREE! red and white wine. 

Prices

$55 per person per night includes accommodation, all breakfasts and all BBQ's each with FREE food and FREE!& wine.

We have a 3 night minimum 24/25/26 and all bookings must be paid in full, sorry but we need to prepare.

Perfect weather, hot bodies and great parties. What better and more unique place to enjoy Christmas than on the beach at either Bondi Beach or Coogee Beach.

When you book Christmas at Surfside you are not just buying a bed or a room, you are buying an experience. The group, the events, the extra services we put on, are all included FREE with your accommodation. This includes a FREE Christmas Day dinner, beach barbeques, pizza & chilli nights all with FREE food & wine for all guests and friends of guests*. Whether you are coming in a group or on your own, no other place offers all of these opportunities to meet new people, eat, drink and be merry, all included in the price of a bed (see below in 'inclusions' for full details).

In fact the only thing that you should plan to do at Christmas time, is stay longer.

The Christmas period has events starting around the 18th December, going through New Year's and beyond with the Sydney Festival and culminating in Australia Day celebrations on the 26th January. Most visitors recommend that you arrive between 18th to 22nd December to catch the Christmas run up, then enjoy a HOT Sydney Christmas & New Year's & stay some extra days to catch January's summer events. This is made easier with prices either side of Christmas being drastically less than the official Christmas period.

Aussie Beach BBQ’s with FREE meat & vegetarian foods, tons of salads & red & white wine. These take place on the 22^nd December 2011 and again on the 1^st January 2012 for all guests & friends of guests*

New to Christmas/NYE 2011/2012 we want to offer each guest & friends of guests discounted entry to any of four major Sydney attractions. Our offer extends to the Sydney tower, Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife World and the awesome Taronga Zoo. The Skytower is $20.00, normally $25.00, save $5.00 per person. The Sydney Aquarium & Sydney Wildlife World are $29.95 each, normally $34.95 each, save $5.00 per person. Sydney's Taronga Zoo is $39.00, normally $44.00, save $5.00 per person.

New to Christmas/NYE 2011/2012 we want to offer each guest who books and pays in full by the 31^st October 2011 1 hour of FREE internet for each guest for each night stayed. A fourteen night stay would get 14 hours free internet access, 9 nights 9 hours and so on.

New to Christmas/NYE 2011/2012 we want to offer each guest several services that we normally charge for. This would include FREE Tax File Number (TFN) applications and FREE Bank accounts. We would be happy to apply for your TFN as part of our package. Bank accounts can be set up before you arrive so your ATM cards are ready to pick up at local branches. New to Christmas/NYE 2011/2012 we have several “Explorer Days” allotted for you to explore Sydney with our many FREE guides and maps to help you. The 26^th December 2011 is the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race leaving Sydney Harbour around midday and is spectacular so we recommend Watsons bay as a day out. The 27^th, 29^th or 30^th Dec 2011 we always recommend either Sydney’s Harbourside Taronga Zoo, Manly to Spit Bridge Walk, Palm Beach (the home of “Home & Away”), the Blue Mountains, Bondi to Coogee/Coogee to Maroubra/Coogee to Bondi Cliff walks.

Surfside Rooms

Surfside Bondi Beach and Surfside Coogee Beach both have dorm rooms in various sizes and we have both mixed and female only rooms, we have a first choice and second choice on our booking form, please book early to get your first choice otherwise second choice will be given. If we cannot offer either choice we will contact you to let you know what is available.

Only Surfside at Bondi Beach have double and triple rooms are located at our partner building just 100 meters away. Most events are held in our building as we have more open space but you will have a key for both building and full access to all services, facilities and events. 

Christmas & New Years Prices

Nights from 1^st December 2011 to 20th December 2011 are $39 per person per night for all dorms, $120 per room per night for double and twin rooms.

Nights from 5^th January 2012 to 31^st January 2012 are $39 per person per night for all dorms, $109 per room per night for double and twin rooms.

Christmas Payments.

Basically its now after the 1st december so we require full payment.

Can I cancel my booking at anytime and how do I cancel?

Of course you can but we don’t refund any monies taken. Once you have cancelled no more amounts will be taken. To cancel please don’t call us by phone. Please send us an email to bondi@surfsidebackpackers.com.au for Surfside Bondi Beach or coogee@surfsidebackpackers.com.au for Surfside Coogee Beach with your name and arrival date letting us know that you want to cancel the booking. We will confirm back with you that the booking is cancelled.

What Happen Christmas Day? We have a big day planned for you. Breakfast: FREE pancakes and fruit from 9am -11am. Morning: have your first ever swim in the ocean on Christmas day-Yahoo! Day: FREE fully catered sit down Aussie BBQ style Christmas Dinner served at Surfside for all guests including FREE red and white wine. Day Optional extra: Beach party from 2pm to 10pm (details & cost TBA). Evening: call home let your folks know you are having a ball or simply chill out on the beach watch the sun go down. Night: FREE Surfside Backpackers Party in evening from 8pm with FREE red and white wine. It is great fun & we would love for you to attend. Can I Invite My Friends (not staying at Surfside) To Christmas Events? Yes or course but we need to know well in advance because we cater for exact numbers. Please let us know as soon as you know. For the BBQ's there is no charge for friends however we ask that you ask your friends to bring along some wine or beer. Christmas dinner is our biggest event & for this we will ask your friends to contribute $30 per person which will give them full Christmas dinner with FREE red and white wine. We may ask you to pay for them as we want the money early so we can buy more food and wine in time.

Can We Be In The Same Room? Every year bookings show up & then we find out you are all friends with each other but booked separately. If you tell us who your friends are at the point of booking we will of course get you all together. If you don't tell us it's down to luck!

Can I Book For My friends? Each year a kind member of a group, usually the organizer, puts his/her credit card down to pay deposit for his/her mates. Then someone cancels & there a problem for the person to refill that space as we don't refund deposits. To avoid this we recommend that each person makes their own booking and lets us know in the comments box of the booking form the names of your friends. This also makes each person responsible for themselves and saves the organizer a lot of hassle.

Where Will I Stay? (Bondi Beach) Surfside has a partner building located 100 meters away. Surfside has all the dorm rooms & our partner building has the doubles, twins and triple rooms. All guests have use of all facilities or Surfside and best of all the Christmas dinner and all the events planned. Those in the partner building get keys for the Surfside so they can come over anytime.

VIP Backpackers Discount Card. If you were wondering what the difference in prices is...well a VIP card that costs $37 (same price everywhere) gives you the lower price. The best value is made when you request a VIP card on the booking form with your accommodation. Most is saved on the 9 or 14 night deals.

A VIP card is a backpacker’s discount card that gives you major discounts on accommodation and travel. There are 100 hostels in OZ plus another 80 in NZ that give a discount. The 2 major transport companies in OZ, namely Greyhound and Premier give approx 10% of all travel too. We are a member of the VIP Backpackers network and as such we offer the cards to our customers so they can get better prices on heaps of travel tour and accommodation you were going to do anyway.

I want VIP Backpackers Discount Card, where do I get one? You can order them through Surfside on the booking form when you make a reservation. We will even send you the card so you can get discount on the reservation and use it in other hostels before you get to us. See the booking form for details.
